In accordance with our methodological approach, we report the development of a new semantic proposition for the crest in the arms of Bruce of Downhill (Northern Ireland): “a lion passant azure, bearing in his right paw a treefoil slipped vert.

Designant's verbalization: English.

Canting impression: “debruser” (Anglo-Norman » to break).
